European Maritime Day celebrated on 20 May each year, seeks to raise European citizens’ awareness of the seas and their importance. The Luxembourg Maritime Cluster organizes each year an event around this period.
The Cluster celebrated European Maritime Day in 2022!
The event took place on May 20th, 2022, at KPMG Luxembourg and was organized in collaboration with the Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management. During this event, the Cluster discussed the topics of autonomous shipping, MASS & USV. We welcome speakers from Fraunhofer-Centre for Maritime Logistics and Services, from Jan De Nul Group & GEOxyz.

EMD 2022 — 18/05/2022
On May 20th, 2022, the Cluster with the Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management organized a conference for European Maritime Day 2022 about autonomous shipping, MASS & USV. This event took place at KPMG Luxembourg. After opening speeches given by Mr. Prijot Henri & Prof. Benny Mantin, we had three presentations
> Mr. Hans-Christoph Burmeister from Fraunhofer-Centre for Maritime Logistics and Services presented a study case related to cost savings due to MASS;
> Mr. Mike Lycke from Jan De Nul Group gave us a presentation about the USV Beluga 01;
> Mr. Bert Declerck from GEOxyz showed us the different USVs of the company and their activities.
The presentations were followed by a Q&A session and a networking cocktail. It was a great event that gave many insights about MASS, USV & the future of shipping to all the participants!

Odyssea association and the Cluster Maritime Luxembourgeois organize a webinar on May 20th, 2022, to celebrate European Maritime Day 2021.
Odyssea with its Chairman Mr. Pierre Gallego, presented its research around the world and actions to preserve & converse marine fauna.
The webinar was streamed from the studio of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
