The Luxembourg Maritime Cluster started this initiative in February 2020, with the support of Deloitte Luxembourg which hosted the first conference around this theme.
Owing to the success of this first conference, the Cluster made a point of honor to continue to work on far-reaching with Professor Mikaa Mered. He returned in February 2021 to talk about Antarctica and the link with the Lunar South Pole.
With more than 10 years of experience in Polar affairs, Mikaa Mered is a lecturer on Arctic and Antarctic geopolitics at HEC Paris, Sciences Po Paris and the French War College, where he is also head of the Environment and Security Committee. In addition, he serves as external expert to the European Commission, sits on the board of directors of the French-Finnish Chamber of Commerce and the Paul-Emile Victor Endowment Fund, and also teaches Hydrogen markets and geopolitics at HEC Paris and ILERI.
Following his award-winning first monograph “Les Mondes Polaires” (The Polar Worlds – PUF, 2019), Mikaa’s new book “Hydrogène : enjeux économiques et géopolitiques” (Hydrogen, economic and geopolitical stakes – PUF) will hit the shelves on September, 2021.
